Chicago IL, —(date)— Hardstop Records is excited to announce a new project with Midwest Indie Rock band Hollow Bastion. Born as a solo project of lead singer Teagan Bery, Hollow Bastion is quickly making a name for itself in the Chicago music scene.
Combining a rocker’s attitude with gentle, dissonant melodies, impactful drum beats, and the occasional guitar riff, Hollow Bastion produces music for the contemplative and exploratory times in life. Delivered by quirky vocals, their thoughtful lyricism surrounding isolation and emotional perseverance makes each song passionate and powerful.
Band members Teagan Brey (guitar and lead vocals), Michael Whelan (drums), and Ruben Steiner (bass) came together with nothing but a suburban bedroom and garage band, all for the love of making music. The band is heavily influenced by Japanese Breakfast and Wilco, and is proud to share the local Chicago scene with artists like Friko and Ratboys. Hollow Bastion is quickly filling out shows at local bars and festivals, and Hardstop is proud to help produce their next project.
While writing their next album, the band is getting ready to rock Kilborne Festival on July 3rd and tour the East Coast in September and October. Hollow Bastion has three EPs, one album, Waitin’ All Winter, and a music video for their song, Only One, out now.
